New Formations

Orangemen --

Here is the new 2-3-2-2-1 formation I've been considering.  Option 1 includes the strong single striker in the central forward position.

Option 2 includes two strong attacking midfielders on the flanks.

In both cases the system demands that the team play in position and move as a unit on and off the ball.  Please provide your thoughts.  If you click on each map you should be able to expand your view.

    1. Mooch,
My apologies. I failed to open the image to full size and see the names listed. You are all over it!

I can see how this might help us exploit opponents' 4-4-2 systems and protect against a quick counter-attack. I like how we can attack the flanks and have back-up since we only have a limited number of players who can make the grave yard runs.

Good X's and O's potential here.

  2. Mooch,

Looks good. should also keep us spread to use both sides and collapse the weak side defense to slow rapid counterattack by the opposition.

If it holds, we should be well positioned for our own quick counterattacks with good support all around.

(BTW - Clearly more XOXO opportunity for Gooch in option 2 than option 1!)

  3. Oct 6-game--The game was the “best’ of times and the “worst” of times. I enjoyed playing at the outside midfield position where I received more passes that game than the many games I played before. It was great to be more engaged in the game. However my performance at handling the passes left a lot to be desired. I trust with getting acclimated to a new “style” of playing and experience and practice that I will improve. Thanks team!! Great Game Jim Landoll (JRL)
